ANTENNA DEPOLOYMENT
The
Q-MAC MiniPack Broadband Antenna is a rollout type
antenna which is end-fed (ie. it has the coaxial feed point at one
end of the antenna). By virtue of this construction, it is very
simple to deploy, requiring only one mounting point (such as a tree
of fence post). The antenna is mounted as high as possible at one
end and grounded to earth at the other end. Total length of the
antenna is 36m, incorporating a radiating section which is 16m.
Typical deployment time is less than 5 minutes.
BATTERY USE
The Q-MAC MiniPack
Rechargeable Battery provided with this package has a 4Ah capacity.
This battery will provide, on average, around 5.5 hours of operation
to the Q-MAC HF-90 Transceiver (based on a standard duty cycle of
10% transmit and 90% receive/standby). This battery is very rugged
and does not require full discharge prior to charging – ie. it can
be constantly ‘topped up’ as convenient.
