Front Panel Controls and Connectors:

System connector

TOP

The system connector is the main electrical interface to the RELINKER. It supports the following functions:

· Power (12VDC) from internal battery and to the RELINKER power bus.
· 12VDC current limited (300mA) output for external use.
· Data connection (RS232) for Up/Downloading of configuration data and Status readout.
· Line level Audio interface, RX and TX. (Balanced if linecard is fitted).
· PTT input for keying. (The functional equivalent E-wire if linecard is fitted).
· RETR output wich gives Squelch status (The functional equivalent M-wire if linecard is fitted).

Most of the functions and pin assignments are compatible with the POWER connector of the PRC-77 family. The compatible pins are marked '#' in the pin assignment table.

Antenna connector

TOP

This is a 50 ohm BNC connector for the antenna.

Status LED

TOP

The front panel status LED is directly controlled by the RELINKERS main prosessor. It gives status information from the LINKER to the user by changing blink sequences according to the following table:

Status

Audio connectors:

TOP

The two Audio connectors are connected in parallell and supports Handset/Speaker/Microphi\one interface to the RELINKER. The signal levels are compatible with the military PRC-77 family and all of its audio accessories. In addition the Audio Output is low impedance and able to drive a speaker directly.

The 12VDC found on the center pin (Pin F) may be used as power-supply for external use.

Volume control

TOP

The volume control sets the volume on audio output from the audio-connectors. The audio level on the System connector is not affected by the volume control as on PRC-77.

Mode selector

TOP

Use the MODE selector to select one of up to 10 preprogrammed configurations. The configuration setup is done by a special PC program and uploaded to the RELINKER. In the RELINKER it is stored in nonvolatile EEPROM. The same PC program may be used to download configuration-data from the RELINKER for inspection/editing. The following table shows wich data may be assigned each MODE setting.

· Mode Enable/Dissable (You may not need all 10 settings!).
· TX frequency
· RX frequency
· TX power level.
· Use of subtone squelch (CTCSS) on/off
· Repeater operation: Off - Carrier controlled - CTCSS controlled or Selcall controlled.
· Repeater hold timer.
· CTCSS code (if used)
· Selcall code-register (if used).
· Power save functions

Note: Do NOT assign TX and RX frequencies to the RELINKER wich is outside the DUPLEX-FILTER's specified frequencies.

The RELINKER COMME REPETEUR

A/ LINKER as stand-alone full-duplex repeater. (standard configuration). Compatible with CTCSS, CCIR, Zvei and EIA tone system, and timers for control of repeater functions.
Use of 3 dB CATC antenna is recommended. Handset and/or speaker can be connected .

B/C Standard military or commercial hand-held or mobile radios that can operate on LINKER frequencies and with repeaters.

Analog radio link (4 fils E/M)

A and B are standard single channel or 10 channel   RELINKER radios fitted with a line cards

This application provides an analog link in either the VHF or UHF band with/ 4 wire E+M1capability. The link can be set up using either the single channel or 10 channel RELINKER. Both RELINKER transceivers must be fitted with a line card for this application. The standard RELINKER control card includes provision for this option.

The 10 channel RELINKER can be programmed with 9 full duplex channels and one simplex service channel. This is useful during net setup or service of the system.

Use of 3 dB CATC antenna or Yagi antenna is recommended.

  Crossband RELINKER Configuration

A/ RELINKER PRC2015 or PRC2045 10 channel transceiver, stand configuration and programmed as a repeater

B/ AN/PRC77, PRC1077, PRC2015, PRC2045 or similar radio, (AN/PRC77 and PRC1077, simplex; PRC2015 and PRC2045, full duple repeater.)

E & F.. Transceivers working with repeater A.

C & D .. Transceivers working radio B.

G. CX-4656 or 1077-Retran 50 ft. retransmission cable or equivalent

This useful application gives armed forces, police or any user the possibility of connecting two different radio networks into one net in few minutes.

The military can use mil. Comm equipment in combination with small commercial Handholds in high VHF or UHF band. The Linker will at the same time works as a Duplex repeater and give those radios a wide communication coverage.

For Police or similar you can connect two Linkers. A. Can be the Police and B, can be any user like the fire force, military, Aid organizations etc.

These solutions give the users a netsetup in few minutes that allow the different users use their own radios in a common net. Both RELinkers will also work as a repeater in both Nets.

LARGE COUVERTURE POUR SYSTEME

A,B,C are standard single channel or 10 channel, VHF or UHF RELINKER transceivers equipped with a line card programmed for 4 wire E+M operation.

D. Type ET103 line distribution unit

E. Telephone interface (if access to phone net is needed.)

All stations work in parallel and as repeaters, providing wide geographic coverage. The 4 wire E+M line can be replaced by an additional RELINKER radio configured as a link as described in application 02.
